So here we are, yet another website from me.  It looks exactly the same as the last one though, so why do I keep on changing all the time?

Honestly, I don’t think I know myself…evolusion was alright, but the spelling confused people, fgst didn’t really mean anything and the .org bit really confused people, so I decided a .com was the way forward…but what to register?

It has to be something reasonably short, something that people can type easily. Ideally something that’s relevant to me.  The problem is that there are very few decent addresses left these days – think of how difficult it is to get <yourname>@gmail.com.  The same is true for website addresses, if you can think of it, odds are it has been registered, even if it’s not in use, or only being sat on until it can be sold for a higher price, you are very unlikely to get the web address you want.

Your options then are:
1) Go for an obscure TLD (the .com/.org/.net) bit, possibly from some far off nation that still has the exact address you want available
2) Get creative with the spelling, like I did with evolusion…also consider us1ng num83rs in place of letters

So I’ve tried both of these and neither really felt quite right…so I considered option
3) Try the domain name you want, the one that’s relevant to you…but in a different language.  The problem there is what language? Surely that’s just going to confuse people further. Maybe it will, but hey…third time lucky!

So what then is anclag? Well it’s actually ‘an clag’ which (and I could be entirely wrong here) is Scottish Gaelic for …..ready for this……”the bell“!

So there we have it, this website, although it is called anclag.com, is actually to those in the know thebell.com, but with a nice Scottish twist on it…now what could be more suitable for me?
(if you think of something…don’t answer that…it has taken me long enough to settle on this!)
